A Eucharistic song of mission and thanksgiving inspired by the words of Micah 6:8, “..and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
LYRICS
To love justice and show mercy,
Walk wisely and humbly with God.
To love justice and show mercy,
Walk wisely and love one another in Christ.Life giving blood of forgiveness,
flowing that all may be-come as one,
Healing love, challenging us
as we go to the world.Body surrendered and broken,
deity offered in sacrifice
Bread of life, nourishing us
as we go to the world.Ask and it shall be given,
knock and the door shall be opened wide
Words of truth, comforting us
as we go to the world.

This setting of Micah 6:8 is beautiful in its simplicity, in reflecting the text and in the missionary challenge to go out to the world.
I was privileged that Jo Boyce and Mike Stanley sang this piece at my Induction as Parish Priest of St Thomas More, Coventry, in 2011.
Gosh, was that really only 2011? Feels like so much longer ago. A lot has changed since then, but the missionary call of this classic song is as strong and as relevant as ever.
