Money raised for CAFOD and St Gile’s Hospice in memory of Mike Stanley

Dear friends of CJM,

I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for your support in what has been a very sad and emotional time since Mike passed away. The boys and I have been truly overwhelmed by cards and letters offering love, prayers and Masses for both Mike and our family. He was a wonderful, talented and caring, gentle man and that came across in every thought and word. And, yes, his legacy will live on…

I also wanted to say a huge thank you for donations that have continued to come in over the last few weeks. I am very pleased to tell you that we raised £3855 for two charities that I know Mike felt very passionately about.

He supported CAFOD for many years and I am assured that some of the money will be going to support the crisis in Syria. The other charity is St Giles Hospice in Lichfield. Hospice at home carers enabled me to look after Mike for so long at home and the in-patient unit then provided the most wonderful care allowing us to spend Mike’s last days in peace and tranquility. I will always be grateful to them.

Included in the total sum is money that his eldest son, Adam, raised by running the Sutton Fun Run (8.3 miles) just four days before his dad died.  We were very proud of him.

It is also lovely to hear the positive and personal feedback since the release of Mike’s two CDs ‘Faith‘ and ‘Dewfall‘. I watched him write, compose and record each and every one of those songs through some very difficult times and I was so proud of his faith, strength and stubbornness!

So, once again, from me and on behalf of Adam, Joseph, Luke and of course my beautiful Mike, thank you for your care, support, generosity and love.

God Bless,

Yvonne Stanley
