INSET

In Service Training

In Service Training days are becoming an increasingly significant aspect of the work of cjm|music. The courses try to deliver new music, Church teaching and practical ideas that will help teachers, pastoral musicians and others to nurture and enrich the liturgical experience of their own worshipping communities.

By default, many teachers become worship leaders and liturgy planners with very little support, training or opportunities for their own spiritual development. Our aim is to bridge that gap in a way that is useful and practical.

Our accessible approach to training and formation suits those based in a parish setting also – lay ministers and clergy alike.

You can book our team to deliver INSET in-house at your own school or venue of your choice, or you can attend as a delegate on one of our many open courses held at locations around the country.

“IN-HOUSE” INSET DAYS
We can come to you…

Our experience is that these days work best if arranged between a cluster of schools in an area. It is an ideal way to renew the vision of a school as a community of faith, to gather ideas and resources for collective worship and boost the confidence of those involved in planning and leading worship.

Our in-house INSET courses tend not to be as detailed or “specialised” as our open courses and are suitable for all staff – including non-teaching staff.

If you are planning a day of input with another keynote speaker, our team can work alongside them to build times of prayer and liturgy into the programme – aspects which can often be an afterthought and unfortunately end up being a low-point rather than a highlight of the day.

“OPEN” INSET DAYS
You come to us at a venue near you…

Our principal providers, Jo Boyce & Mike Stanley, have over 30 years collective experience to share and a gift for condensing their knowledge and communicating it in a way that is accessible, entertaining and practical.

Over the past few years our team has piloted and developed several successful music & liturgy based courses. Working with Diocesan departments and agencies around the country, our aim is to bring these courses to suitable venues in key regions.
