The Exaltation of the Cross marks the final weeks of ordinary time, which end on the 34th Sunday when we celebrate the feast of Christ the King. In the third and final part of Year A (weeks 25 – 34), we continue in Matthew’s Gospel from the parable of the laborers in the vineyard {Matthew 20:1-16} to the words of Jesus on how he will separate the sheep and the goats after he returns in glory {Matthew 25:31-46}.
