This sung prayer response was written for our diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes in to tie in with the pastoral theme that year: “Praying the Our Father with Bernadette”. This incredibly versatile piece can be used in a number of ways, especially when there is a particular focus on the person of God the Father in your liturgy or time of prayer.

It’s written as a simple call and response and each of the seven alternative responses is based on one of the main ‘petitions’ in the Lord’s Prayer.

1. Our Father in Heaven
2. Hallowed be thy name
3. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
4. Give us this day our daily bread
5. Forgive us our trespasses
6. Lead us not into temptation
7. Deliver us from evil

During our pilgrimage in Lourdes we used a different response for the prayer of the faithful in each of our daily Masses, and we journeyed through the themes of the Lord’s Prayer… (You can probably guess which of the seven possible responses we using during our penitential service that week.)
