Back in November 2014, we spent two exhausting but enjoyable evenings with a wonderful massed choir and congregation at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Sutton Coldfield, recording a dozen or so songs for BBC Songs of Praise.
The last time we were on Songs of Praise was probably back in 2007 when we first released our Age to Age I – Songs for a Pilgrim People. With the new format of the programme, they were looking for more Catholic content, and we were delighted to be given the chance to be involved again.
From mid-November, Songs of praise changed its traditional format of a (generally Anglican) service recorded in a cathedral or parish church. In the new magazine-style format, each episode now features a range of churches, locations, congregations, and choirs of varied Christian denominations.
The first instalment was broadcast on the Epiphany episode on 4th January 2015 and will be available on BBC iPlayer until 3rd February 2015. It was wonderful to see and hear the congregation singing our Age to Age arrangement of Be Thou My Vision, in a location that is so familiar to many of our team.
This new format means we aren’t exactly sure which episodes the songs we recorded will be featured in over the coming weeks. A rather cunning ploy to keep us all tuned in, we think 😉 So.. stay tuned and keep and eye on our Facebook page
