The Art of Celebrating the Word ~ Twilight CDP course with Jo Boyce

This autumn term (and over the coming months) Jo Boyce will be presenting The Art of Celebrating the Word; the second session in our Twilight Prayer and Liturgy CPD series.

In these inspiring and engaging trainings, Jo Boyce explores how to create meaningful non-Eucharist liturgies that engage young people and help them to understand the Church’s tradition of liturgical prayer. Sharing her own decades of practical hands-on experience.

As well as building on the input from session 1 – The Art of Liturgical Prayer, this latest session will focus on:

  1. Creative and practical ways to truly make the Word the highpoint of our times of prayer and liturgy.
  2. Exploring the implications of the upcoming change to the translation of the scripture and the psalms that we use in the Liturgy.
  3. Unpack the guidelines in the Prayer & Liturgy Directory regarding Scripture and its place in our times of prayer and celebrations of the Word.
  4. How we can help young people to understand, proclaim and respond to the Word meaningfully.

This training is open to anyone with responsibility for prayer and liturgy in the context of a Catholic School. Our parish-based friends and catechists are of course very welcome too.

WHEN: Thursday 3rd October, 4:30pm – 7:30pm
WHERE: Online, via Zoom

In-person places are no longer available, but the course will be delivered as a multi-camera, live-stream via Zoom.

And you’ll be delighted to know that the internet at the venue has been significantly upgraded! So, while there’s never any guarantee where technology is concerned, we don’t anticipate having the glitchy livestream challenges that we had to endure last time!
