The responsorial psalm for Passion Sunday (Palm Sunday) is the beautifully poignant lament from Psalm 21(22). In our response we echo Jesus’ words from the cross: “Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?’ which is translated, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’” {Mk 15:34; Matt 27:46}
Psalm 21:8-9, 17-20, 23-24 r. 2
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

We’d love to hear from you in the comments below…
This is a lovely setting. So you have the full score available (to buy)? We have a range of wind instruments in our church, and it is nice to be able to play harmonies as well as the melody and guitar parts. We are planning to use it for our Palm Sunday mass.
Hi Paul, glad you like this setting. We haven’t got full score available at the moment, sorry. It’s certainly something we’ll consider for future though. God bless.
I have a hand written version, virtually the same
We used this setting in our Liturgy today – so prayerful and reflective. Thank you as ever. Dom
Thank you. I used the Responsorial psalms for our Lenten group. The Refrains were very easy to join in and the settings certainly added to our discussions.
That’s good to know Kath… What a great idea to use the Psalms in your Lent group. God bless
This is so easily organised. I wish I can read the music. Thank you to all who made this liturgy as simple as anything. May the Lord bless you all. Happy Easter to come.
You’re welcome Cathy. Wishing you a blessed and joyous Eastertide.
