Mike Stanley spent much of the past couple years – while he was undergoing treatment – writing and recording. His musical creativity and deep faith were an inseparable consolation to him in difficult days.
Many of those new songs were released on two CD’s shortly before Mike’s death and through the I Believe tour and the Archdiocese of Birmingham’s recent pilgrimage to Lourdes, are already becoming firm favourites.
Dewfall has 13 tracks including songs O Marie, Joy of the Holy Spirit, a lovely setting of the Hail Mary and the title track, Like the Dewfall.
Faith is a five-track EP realeased to mark the Year of Faith. The title track was co-written with our pianist, Andy Ross and “His Name Is Jesus” is co-written and recorded with Dan Callow of OneLife Music.
One of the things that has become incredibly obvious since Mike’s passing is that his musical legacy is deep and broad and has touched many, many lives – and will continue to do so for a long time to come.
Have any of Mike’s new songs become favourites for you yet? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below…
