Songs of the Prodigal Concerts

There was so much positive feedback after last year’s Songs of the Prodigal tour that we’ve decided to do it again in 2012.

There are only three dates however, and we’ll be travelling a little bit further afield so that our friends in Hertfordshire and North London can share the intimate evening of music and reflection that is becoming the hallmark of the Songs of the Prodigal experience.

Rejoice ‘n’ Sing Vol. 3 – Audio CD out now

Rejoice ‘n’ Sing Vol. 3 – Audio CD out now

Our work on the Rejoice and Sing volume 3 mass settings project is slowly drawing to a close.

It has truly been a labour of love these past few months – especially for Mike Stanley who’s been overseeing the project working from home while also being on long-term sick leave.

We are pleased to announce that the audio CD was released on 31 December 2011 and those who ordered in advance would have received their package of audio delight only in the New Year. The feedback we’ve received so far has been really very positive.

“[the CD] … was on the doormat when I arrived home from school
this evening – and is so beautiful – very moving and uplifting -
I can’t wait to get everyone working on a new setting!” ~ Jon

One of the exciting things about the recording is that it features the vocal talents of priests from our diocese – including our Archbishop Bernard Longley. For each mass setting one of the priests sings and/or speaks the part of the Presider, which helps the listener understand exactly how each setting works within the context of the Mass.

Work continues  on the Digital Songbook CD-ROM and we’re hoping that this will be available for release in the next few weeks. Meanwhile you can still place an ADVANCE ORDER and save £4 off post-release retail price.

> Order online: Audio CD £10.99 [NOW IN STOCK]
> Order online: Digital Songbook CD-ROM £25.99 [rrp. £29.99]

How Can We Keep from Singing? Vol 3

How Can We Keep from Singing? Vol 3

The third collection of songs in the popular How Can we Keep From Singing? series goes on general release on Friday 11th March.  This collection brings together a carefully selected group of songs and acclamations featuring work by well-known contemporary liturgical composers including Bernadette Farrell, Bob Hurd and Marty Haugen.

Unlike previous offerings in the series, this recording features a full band – including drums – on several tracks, while retaining the simple, accessible arrangements which have become the hallmark of the series so far.  All 3 CDs in this series provide a valuable reference point for parishes and schools looking to expand their liturgical repertoire.

Order your copy in advance for just  £9.99 (rrp. £10.99)  The first 50 advance orders will also receive a FREE BONUS Backing Track CD.

New CD to mark beatification of Cardinal Newman

Lead Kindly Light, CDBoyce & Stanley have released a sparkly, new 6 track CD Single to mark the beatification of Cardinal Newman and the Pope’s visit to Britain.

Music for the Masses…

Music for the Masses…

This summer, Boyce & Stanley continue their pilgrimage of thanksgiving, sharing songs that have been on the lips of more than three generations of worshippers.

The duo are visiting more than a dozen parishes within their home Archdiocese of Birmingham to lead the music for some of the weekend Masses.

In many respects, this work of helping parishes find a voice in worship through skilled and sensitive music ministry, is closest to the heart of the cjm mission and vision.

Touring the parishes and being able to serve in this way is a real privilege and blessing.
